Recruit.com was opened in January 2002 and has been operating successfully since then. The company is run by Gail van Rooyen who is a qualified recruitment consultant.She is joined by Janine Feldman who has 10 years plus in HR.
Janine is an Industrial Psychologist with 15 years of experience in the HR field. Janine recently joined Recruit.com as a recruitment consultant. Prior to this, she worked as an HR Manager in the executive protection industry, and generalist in the market research industry. Janine’s experience ranges from recruitment, psychometric assessments and counselling to generalist HR functions including HR reporting and labour issues.
The company is a home based business with interviews being carried out at convenient venues around the Northern Suburbs. Most applicants are happy to sit and chat over a cup of coffee and find themselves in neutral territory which enables them to relax and open up to the many questions asked of them.
Recruit.com is registered with the Association of Personnel Services Organisation (APSO) and is registered as a Private Employment Office through the Department of Labour. Gail is a registered consultant with the IPSC.
Gail has specialized in Recruitment and Selection and passed this qualification (with distinctions) in 1988 through Rapid Results College. She has also completed a number of related training courses. She refreshed these skills in 2007 by completing the Diploma in Managing the Recruitment Process through Unisa.
Gail believes very strongly in ‘balance of life’ and finds she is able to achieve this by operating as a sole consultant from a home based office in Randburg.
Gail is a qualified Biometric Officer and is authorised to complete full criminal checks through AFIS. This service is available not only to candidates but also to existing employees of a company.
For the past few years, Gail has specialized in the retail industry supplying middle to senior management and top calibre sales consultants to one of SA’s top retailers.

Its December already – how this year has flown by. And once again we are looking forward to 2017 wondering what the New Year will bring.
Recruit.com has been in business for 15 years!
We have had a great year and I was delighted when Janine joined the business as a consultant and resident Psychometrist. It’s been a tough start but she is determined to make this work and will be continuing with Recruit.com in 2017.
We have also had a tough year with a number of difficult clients and candidates but have battled through the challenges and continued to do business in an ethical and fair manner.
Next year we will be focusing on growing the client base as well as the consultant base not only to increase our business and profits but also to empower those consultants who would like to make recruitment a career for themselves.
Customer service is vitally important and no matter what product we sell or service we offer, we strive to give our best at all times.

Our new motto for 2017: “What are we waiting for”
In November I attended the ActionCoach Business Forum and Awards held in Durban. This was an excellent conference with great speakers from all walks of life.
One lesson I learnt and a great philosophy for the future is “what are we waiting for”
We all tend to hesitate and often doubt our business decisions. This applies to recruiting great people – will they have all the skills I am looking for, will they fit into the culture of the business, will they meet the pressures and demands that we put on our people in the business? There is only one way to find out.
When looking for new work opportunities, candidates want to find a position where they are going to improve their skills and experience. They don’t want a sideways move, they want to move up the ladder, they want to learn, they want to improve and they want to grow. If you meet a candidate who doesn’t quite have all the skills you require, let them learn, let them grow, give them the opportunity to empower themselves and grow in the business.
Many great business men and women in South Africa have taken the leap of faith and have been highly successful. They may not have had the product knowledge or skills when they ‘jumped’ in but they gave themselves the opportunity to learn, they were given the opportunity to prove themselves and they were successful.
Let’s go forward into 2017 with the attitude of “what are we waiting for”, let’s empower and grow the people of South Africa and let’s give them a chance.
A note from Janine
Having always been in recruitment on "the other side" - within an organisation itself, I appreciate how time consuming recruitment can be. One often wades through an endless pile of CVs, only to find oneself starting again because the ideal candidate is so difficult to find. To add to this, one has to adhere to various policies within the organisation in terms of recruitment and the process can become quite taxing.
